Did I order the wrong mobo??

See what I have below in signature. I see a lot of threads for the P8Z68 DELUXE, and I feel like I should send what I bought back. I'm sure I over paid, and am getting features I might not use, but is Maximus IV Extreme-Z a good stable board at least? Once upon a time before kids and a super busy job, I did a lot more research on my new builds.

You've bought it already, I don't see the point in wasting your time disassembling everything and reassemble it just because you see there are more discussions about a tier lower board. If you had made that decision in the first place then it would mean something, now it will just be a waste of time.

I did a build for a friend back in January when the degrading chipset issue popped up. I told him that he could swap the motherboard to a B3 but that would mean that he has to wait and go through the trouble of disassembling and reassembling everything. In the end, he is still using the old board.

You could still make good use of the voltage check points that comes with your MIVE-Z.

For the price it should come with one of the chics you see at the trade shows holding it....At least for the delivery of the board 🙂

I'm sure it's a good stable board but if your not gonna take advantage of the added features most likely you could get by with something half the price.

If your next choice is the P8Z68 DELUXE then it would depend on the price split if it's even worth exchanging the boards.

Your rig is in sig as in complete build? If so seems like even the deluxe would be overkill unless it has something you need.

I have yet to assemble it. So I should have purchased a Gen. 3 mobo?

The signature is pretty much complete other than a 1.5TB WD drive.

Your decision to make.

I don't venture that high up the food chain on motherboard. You'd have to compair the Asus boards to see what features you need. Going down the line to the deluxe, pro
,or just one below possibly?
