I'm really sick of my P180 so I wanted to get a new case with some holiday cash, and I figured while I was at it I should get a new video card. One thing lead to another and I ordered all of this tonight (unless otherwise noted that I already own a part):

CPU: INTEL BX80601920 Core i7-920 2.66GHz

Motherboard: ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Memory: OCZ 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ3X1333LV6GK - Retail

Graphics card: SAPPHIRE 100259-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail

Case: COOLER MASTER COSMOS 1000 RC-1000-KSN1-GP Black/ Silver Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Retail

Optical drive: SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Black SATA Model SH-S223Q - OEM

HDD: Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM (plus a few other HDDs I already own).

Power Supply: CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W SLI/CrossFire Active Power Supply Retail

CPU cooling:Thermalright Ultra120 Series 120mm Fan holder x2
Thermalright LGA1366 Bolt-Thru-Kit Retail BOX Bolt-thru Board Mounting kit
Tuniq TX-2 Cooling Thermal Compound - Retail
Scythe 120x25mm SlipStream SY1225SL12SH - 110 CFM
Thermalright Ultra extreme 120 (already own)

Operating system:Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders - OEM

Accessories: Sunbeam RHK-EX-BA Rheobus-Extreme Fan Controller Panel - Retail

Sound card: bluegears b-Enspirer 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card - (already own)

Also already have gaming mouse & kb, speakers, headset, and 24" monitor.

Did I forget something? I ask because when I priced out a similar system a month ago it was about $500 more than what I just paid and I am exhausted from traveling all day so I might have missed something.

Way more PSU than you need unless you're intending to use Crossfire.

Also, why a 110CFM fan? More than necessary to keep a system at the right temperature and it will generate unwanted (at least in my opinion) noise.

Well yes there are limitations legally but for most people, changing motherboards all the time isn't something they do.

The Cosmos case is a huge, monster, beast that weighs a ton.
I've had one, but would never buy one again, even if I could get it for $90 like my last one.
It's just too big and there are other quality cases that offer equal features.

If you're mainly "gaming", the i7 is a costly path to follow. A fast Core 2 Dual or Core 2 Quad would make a much better bang for the buck.

Thanks guys, I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss a critical component, like ordering all necessary parts except for a motherboard or something dumb like that.

@DSF: I plan on overclocking as much as possible and intend on picking up another 4780 down the road. Also, I got a fan controller too so I'm hoping that will keep the fans quiet during normal use, and then if needed I can turn them up. Since I mostly use a headset when I game it wouldn't bother me.

@Billb2: I hear ya, but it was either $99.99 for OEM or $222.99 for retail. I don't see running into problems with the limitations. I plan on waiting the full 30 days before I activate so hopefully that will help.

@Blain: I want a big case! The P180 looks big but the inside is cramped. I almost went with a Thermaltake Spedo Advanced Package... but I think the Cosmos is more attractive at the end of the day. As far as i7 goes, the difference between building a whole new i7 PC and upgrading my LGA775 platform wasn't that great. With my current mobo I can't even use C2Q. I thought about just getting a new case, E8500, the 4870 1GB, the WD 640gb HDD, and the Corsair PSU, but then I realized I could just jump to i7 for a few hundred more.

Now I just hope newegg, zipzoomfly, and sidewindercomputers all ship out today!

Have you seen a Cosmos case in person?
If not, find one to get an idea of it's monstrous size.

No, I haven't seen it and all we've got around here is Best Buy & Circuit City. But, I've got plenty of room under my desk and I've been wanting a bigger case for a long time now.

Yay, newegg has shipped my order! And zipzoomfly says my order has been packed, so hopefully it will be picked up today. Now I just need sidewinder to jump on board! I hope I get all of this by Friday :)

Just curious, what are the restrictions placed on the OEM version?

Full Tower FTW!

You can always judge a man by the size of his case!

(After I went Full tower with my Antec 1200, I can't imagine going back to the confines of mid-sized ATX)

You'll love that case man, tons of room, and nice looking build!

OEM versions are tied to the motherboard it's first installed on so if you change the motherboard then it's outside of the terms of use. Many people though have called Microsoft and told them that their motherboard died and got a different one. Many have succeeded but don't count on it. You can pretty much change everything except the motherboard.

omg omg omg omg omg I love love love this case! And this system is sooooooooooooooooooooo friggin fast!

The case is very very quiet. I've got the two 110cfm fans running in a push-pull set up. With them running at the lowest speed on the fan controller I can't hear them. Idle temp @ stock speeds is 39C (37C at high speed).
