Did I miss something? why did the Wii console triple in price?

sold mine to my friend for $50 with a bunch of games.

on a side note, you have to smelt a SHIT ton of gold from pc parts to make a few bucks. Also its a really messy and hazardous process
 
Ok, just so we have a sense of conclusion can we confirm that shorty didn't know about the Wii U?

i dunno, the things he posts in OT he might just think it is 3x the price because he saw some listing on craigslist for like $500 or something.

but yeah, if he is seriously talking about the wii-u, then just goes to show you how awful of a name it is and how bad of a marketing job they have done.

They name was shitty, but they could have gotten away with it if they actually spent some $$$ on marketing like they did on the Wii. I mean, Xbox One got away with it, despite being a terrible name. Why? Microsoft actually marketed the damn thing.

And that makes this the third 'Wii U sucks' thread on the front page lol.
 
Original Wii? The rise in retro being cool combined with exponentially exploding collector / reseller fever. People who missed the boat with NES, SNES, N64, GameCube are trying to get in early on more obtainable newer stuff and so are hoarding even brand new stuff now. As original Wii in it's box isn't in stores anymore, and warehouse stock for online retailers has ended, it automatically goes up 3x from eBay resellers. Even more if it's the OMG COLLECTORS LQQK SUPER ULTRA RARE ORIGINAL WII WITH GAMECUBE PORTS!!!!1!1!1!1!1! model.

It's amusing , if anything.

Wii is hardly limited supply or collectible other than a few niche low print games. Too many of them.

You can get a complete Wii off Craigslist for $30. They're all over the place. I'm just going to snag my in-law's as they have it sitting in a container in their garage.
 
i dont even know why i have my wii hooked up. i havent played it since before i moved into my house in september 2012.

shorty i'm in md, kinda close to you in va, i'll sell you mine for 2x the normal price.
 
Yah. It is sad, I got a black case for mine in 2011 and swapped it out but never turned it on again after that point. After you Dolphin, you can't go back to a regular Wii.

So was that it Shorty? You saw some Craigslist ad for $90 instead of the usual $30?
 
I just hooked my Wii up after moving 2 years ago. Still haven't played a single game. Willing to sell for only 2x the price.

No, I have a rig that I built basically for Dolphin (overclocked i5 2500k, 460 GTX, 16GB ram, etc.). Dolphin is one emu that can really push a system to its limits.

Please don't be embarrassed Shorty if you didn't know about the Wii U!!!! This has basically been the "Nintendo screwed up with the Wii U" forum for a week now, so if you- as a technically inclined person- never heard of it then that is a good data point.

If that is not it or your pride is in the way, then just lie. Just please give us some closure!

Lol. I had to look that up to see if it was real. The average Amazon resellers price if about $140. I'm guessing that yes, indeed, they are taking advantage of people confusing the Wii and Wii U. Which doesn't exactly speak volumes for Nintendo either if it's such an easy scam.
