Only air traffic in ALL of north america, Canada included, is military.

I saw a pair of F-16's flying over Dallas yesterday...

Our local news channel reported that they got a call from the Air Force, instructing them not to try and launch their news chopper, or it would be intercepted by F-16s and forced down...

They are taking this grounding of everything VERY seriouslly...

4 American Airlines planes did take off from DFW yesterday taking CARE teams to the various places family of the dead from the airplanes are waiting, they got F-16 fighter escorts the whole way there... I live near Lewisville, which is 5 minutes from DFW. I saw 3 pairs of F-16s fly over at very high speed, perhaps 5K feet... I saw them on TV as well, they circled DFW, then followed the airlines...

My parents flew to Las Vegas on Monday. I wonder when they'll be able to fly home. They are supposed to come back Friday, but with all of the flights getting cancelled, who knows what is going to happen.

RossMAN: Norfolk is in southern VA, about 200 miles from the DC area. It's still frightening to think a plane was hijacked at the airport less than 10 minutes from my house, and crashed into the Pentagon 20 minutes the other way.

I was watching CNN this morning and they had footage of 2 United Airlines planes take off form O'Hare, but they don't know anymore AFAIK. And there were F-16's passong over our house every half hour or so and I can hear the Navy gunships fly over too.
