Did I make a mistake?

I ordered new parts to upgrade my current system.

AMD 64 4000+ SD 939
MSI Neo4 Platinum
eVGA 7800GT CO
Seagate Barracuda 8mb cach Sata 3.0 harddrive. 160gb
G.Skill PC3200 (2x1gb) 2.5CAS

I'm going from:

AMD 64 3000+
1gb Kingston HyperX
6800GT PNY 256mb
Abit K8T800 Pro

Will I see a big difference in my gaming? This is what my friends recommended and such.
I've already ordered the parts from Newegg.com

Did I make a mistake? Or am I going to have a pretty good gaming rig?

and can I use my old IDE harddrive for storage?

i think you would be able to use you ide dirve since many mboards still support ide. or you couuld turn it into an external one if it does not.
you 2X the ram always good. you bought i video card, and the 7800 to boot upgrading from inbuilt graphics..dude that awesome mahine you got there

You will notice a improvement. And you'll be able to crank up AA and AF. And crank up all image setting in every game. Bet your old rig couldn't do that.

Nice upgrade, but it looks like it may have been costly..

If you sold your old parts, it probably only cost you $100-200, which isn't bad..

Man you upgrade fast. No wonder I feel bogged down (2400XP chip).

BJC,
How do you like 2 2005FPWs? I have one. Do games take advantage of that? Or do you just use it for programming, and such?
