I bought Dues Ex 2:IW recently, and yes, I read the not-so-glamorous reviews...but the guy cut me a deal (I purchased some other software) for $24. I have not installed the game yet, but today I read a thread on shack about the Warren Spectar review and everyone is just beating the game down.

Is there anything exciting about this game? I have not played the original all the way through (just the first 2 levs).

No idea . . . try a search here . . . from what I understand people who paid full-price are BITTER.

I am STILL waiting for it to hit the bargain bin after it is patched completely.

The Original DeuSex was BRILLIANT (althought it took me a couple of levels to get "into" it) . . . many games suffer this fate - even Unreal II which wasN'T a "bad" game - if you paid full price for it you were bummed . . .

Since you have it (I assumed you opened it), give it a try . . . if not, read the comments from search and then decide if you want to get your money back . . . so many good games are coming out and there are nice demos to keep one occupied.

edit if you try "search" try ALL forums . . . there are lots of comments in OT and Hot deals also and SPELL it RIGHT

thanks for the heads up and pointers. Anyone else want to voice their opinion?

My opinion would be to install the game and play it yourself. Even if 100 other people posted that the game was crap, doesn't mean you will think so. If the review you talk about refers to a badly patched game, that is a different story.

I guess I've read so much negative press about it, and heard some many bad comments, I'm just wondering if there is actually someone out there with a positive comment. Yea, I'll install and play the game and give it a go, but I need to finish a game I'm already playing first (plate is a little full right now).

Yeah Eeyore's right. There are a lot of games and even movies that a lot of people give bad reviews about, but then when I experience it for myself I love it. Personally I don't see how you can go wrong with Deus Ex 2, but that's just my opinion. My crappy old GF4 MX440 won't even play it.
