Did I make a mistake or not?

Hey Everyone, 🙂

I just setup my home network today and I think i made a mistake....

I bought CAT5e cable (UTP) and I am guessing that I should have probably bought CAT6? Am I correct here?

If I am, is there likely to be much of a difference in terms of data transmission (speed)?

What are the speed differences between CAT5e and CAT6?

Thanks everyone!

No you did not, the idea that a home network is going to transfer gigs of data is WAY over stated.

Cat5E will do it fine. I install cat6 on new business cable plants only because I have no idea what cool widgets the tech folks will come up with next, and manage to sell to the owners/CEOs😉
