Hi Guys.. I really need some help..
I was trying to overclock my Duron 600 on A7V MB.. and After unlocking it with my pencil I tried 1.7V at 700 and started booting, but it stopped booting process after detecting my hardrive and DVD player....just hangs..
I tried reset button.. and it goes right into the BIOS and Says that last time system hang because CPU wasn't properly clocked or something like that..
Even if I go with default setting for Duron 600.. system hangs after detecting my drives..

Oh.. When it was running fine at 600 I overclocked my prophet II MX GPU under win98.. oh well.. system hanged with my older PCI card as well.. so I guess is not problem with Graphic card..

Can anybody help me with this problem? did I kill my CPU?
or is there any way of resetting it?
please help!!!

thanks..
:(

check your heatsinc(you do have one on dont you) maybe it's not making good contact. Also try redoing the pencil trick.

yeah.. I have my heatsink on.. and temp reading in bios is about 47C
although it went up to 53C when I had it at 1.7V
See.. I can access bios if I hit the delete key before it starts detecting my drives and hangs..

how long did you use it before overclocking? I stil think if you redo the unlocking it wil be fine. you can always up the voltage and see if wil be stable again at 600.
