I know I know I?m saving up for a complete system upgrade however for the interim I decided to try to stretch out my system just a little more... So I?m thinking about buying a X700 Pro 256 as the price seems very nice. It would be replacing my 9800 Pro 128 and here are the rest of my config:

P4 3.2 Northwood socket 478
ASUS P4P800 D mobo
1 gig of RAM Kingston Hyper X (512mb x2)
ATI 9800 Pro 128
WD 80 gig IDE
WD 250 gig IDE
Antec True 550

So, for $45 to my door is the X700 Pro 256 worth it? Thanks
 
No! Dont buy the X700pro what ever you do. It has roughly the same power as the 9800Pro. If you buy it, the first time you fire up a game you will prolly burst into tears.
A 7600GT, X800GTO, X1600Pro would be more suitable.
 
NP. I think that would be a wiser choice. It would make more sense to gamble that $45 on poker or something than to buy that X700.
