Did I Just Waste Money On These Xeons?

Am I the only one that finds it weird that in the auction the 733 MHz P3's have caches running at 900 MHz 😀 I think it would be the first time I saw a CPU with a cache that's faster than core frequency.

You cannot run the "Fake" Xeons at greater than 2 way parallel.
This is precisely one of the differences between the real and
"Fake" Xeons. Only the "real" Xeons support SMP > 2.

That's only true for a small subsection of the so-called "fake" Xeon's. That majority of these fake Xeon's can indeed run more then2-way multiprocessing, including the 733MHz 25KB Xeon referenced abpove.
I can provide a link to Intel's Xeon specification documents if you wish to confirm?

Hmmmmm

Id be interested in Xeons...

I only have a single processor system, but it'd beat the hell out of my celeron 😉

Let me know what you're chasing, id even be interested in that busted one... Im not too shabby at soldering - it'd be a good challenge 😀

Well, Phoenix, I'd e-mail you or PM you, but you don't have your profile enabled. Contact me with what you have for trade. I'm sure we could work something out. 🙂
