The sheet that goes over you is called the straight sheet.
Hmm haven't heard that term before. though I'm willing to accept it as the official term if that's what it is.

Hmm ok yes fitted sheets is the term I've heard. To me a sheet is the one that goes over you when you sleep, before the heavier blankets. The fitted sheets, or what I'm calling mattress cover, is what you sleep ON.
The fitted sheet goes over the mattress pad...or, the mattress pad (which also has elastic fitments) goes between the mattress and the bottom/fitted sheet.

Sweet lol. Yup that's what I was imagining. Only I've never heard of a mattress pad till today.
Now imagine...electrically heated mattress pads...with different heating zones...

I'd prefer to have a mattress and pillow chiller.

Motherfucker. So simple, so beautiful. Thing probably doesn't work for shit, though.
Not sure how well it works, but they make a little fan that blows air in between your sheets.

Then there is this device from Japan. It keeps a fresh layer of air between you and your mattress, so you don't heat up the spot under you. Kind of expensive though.

I would think your average person would be far to heavy for either of those to work. It takes a LOT of pressure to force air under a 150+lb object!
Don't know about the second one.
The first one doesn't life you up. It simply blows air in between your sheets.
