I was trying to install my P!!!550E stock HS (with 3 wires fan) replacing my bro celery 400 stock HS (with 2 wire fan) since the P!!! stock HS is bigger. After a serious sweating attempt i managed to put it on the old celery. But now the PC refuses to boot. The PC gives a long beep sound over and over again. I have checked the AGP card and memory stick that might have been improperly seated but still no luck.I removed the new HS just to check the celery & it appears to be still okay. Well the celery ppga is more robust compare to my P!!!550E FCPGA. Did i just killed the celery or maybe the mobo? Any tips to find out the problem? Pls help. TQText

how did you take it out??? it's not working, probably because you haven't reseted the bios as your installing a new processor, try that

1. be sure there is good contact between CPU and HEATSYNC. definitely use thermal paste!!

2. be sure the CPU is properly seated. if necessary, remove it, and try reseating it.

If it's a socket cpu make sure you didn't bend any prongs. If your just doing the HS, take the CPU out and put it back in while eating an Oreo. That will do it.
