I have a IC7 and a P4, 875 Chipset etc.

A few days ago I booted the pc and got ?BootBlock ? Bad CMOS Checksum Error. Please insert BIOS file from floppy.? I rebooted thinking it?s just a onetime thing. Got same screen error. So I just powered down. BAD IDEA!!

After this, my pc would not turn on at all. No fans spinning etc. I ordered a new BIOS chip from Abit and installed. Well, the PC ?comes on? in that all the fans spin and the Hard Drives power up and get ready to boot, but no pre post beep, or post beep. NO VIDEO of any kind. It?s like the video cable is not even attached. (Though I do not get the ?check signal? box on the monitor screen.) It?s in perpetual standby.

I disconnected almost everything from the board. All IDE cables. All power to the drives. Removed all RAM, etc , etc

I heard that if something like this happens and I?m not getting any Video or POST beeps, it?s dead. ?It?s Dead Jim, it?s Dead

Opinion?
