Did I just fry my motherboard?

So, I just installed an Arctic Pro 7 on an MSI H81M-E33 V2. Because the board is so small, the fan on the cooler was pushing slightly against one of the two installed ram dims, which caused the two dims to touch.

After installing, I booted the PC and it was running fine for about a minute, then it abruptly died. I am now getting nothing. Have tried removing the dims, resetting the cmos, etc..., but nothing.

I assume that because the dims were touching, this caused short of some kind. Is that correct?

If so, is is possible I damaged more than the mobo (ram, cpu, etc..)?

Thanks,

Update: After letting the system "rest" for about 20 minutes it is now booting up. I have re-configured the Arctic Prod so that it is not touching the ram at all.

Pull out the multimeter.......

And do what, exactly?

Set it to ohms while power is being fed to the board and then randomly stick it between two solder points?

Understand that telling someone to pull out the multimeter and yet not tell his specifics as to what to test can result in diastrous consequences to something or someone, especially without a schematic.
