as you can see, my sempron is overclocked by 20%. It normally runs at 2 ghz but now operates at 2.4 ghz.. every once in a while when I would reboot my main screen with the logo would break down and nothing would work, I was forced to reboot again... Now about 2 hours ago I wanted to try out the demo for Toca3 and it gave me an error... wanted to reboot, got the same blured image, rebooted a second time and since then nothing... swapped ram, removed ram, removed every perethial I had, even swapped my radeon for a old MX-440 and still nothing... I am now currently running on my backup duron 1300 that I had to put back together... if anyone has any ideas as to what to do, please answer this thread...

oh and I also tried reseting my bios... still nothing

What power supply do you have? You might have killed it, especially if it's some generic "500 watt" thing.

good point pkrush... it is true I am using a "no name" psu... its a 420 watts... atleasts thats what it says on top... and yes snor, I did reset the bios using the jumpers.

But the computer is booting... its just not showing up anything on the main screen...

First, I'd see if anybody nearby has a spare name brand power supply you can borrow, and if not, I'd just buyOne of These. If swapping out the power supply doesn't get your computer working again, then you probably do have a dead motherboard, but I'd try clearing the CMOS first and testing out as many parts as possible in someone else's computer just to make sure. Also, try a PCI graphics card to see if that works.

What do you mean by "main screen?" Do you get any kind of picture at all? Any beeps?

I might get a beep if I had a pc speaker... like the pc turns on, all the fans turn on, but I dont get a video response... I have been thinking about getting a pci card... but both graphic cards work fine on this old Biostar M7VIW.... arf.. anyone knows where I cant get information to proceed with an RMA on asus's web site? I've searched tru it a fiew minutes earlier on but I cant seam to find anything...

The bios is the software the computer has loaded into a ROM chip that holds info about your computers hardware. The cmos is the memory/battery that maintains the settings that you set in the bios. Sometimes these terms are used interchangably (Someone correct me if I'm wrong).
