Did I just damage my LCD? Or is this normal?

Hey guys. I just bought a Dell Inspiron 4100. I went to remove a hair and lightly brushed the monitor with my fingernail and it left a "scratch" on the lcd. It's only noticeable when the screens black. Is this normal? Will a normal cleaner get rid of this? Please respond asap, I'm paranoid that I just damaged it by barely even touching it! I have a feeling this is normal but I'm freakin after paying $1500 for this thing! Thanks!

have you done the "breathe heavy on it and wipe with t-shirt" trick? I've done this (bot the scratch and the trick) to my samsung 170t, and it works fine for me.
