New water pump and thermostat on 1993 BMW 325is.

Garage charged me $600 tax included... how much should it have cost?

Not bad really. It sounds about right for BMW parts and labor.

My little brother used to have a 1987 325xi and it cost him $400 for plug wires distributor cap and button.
His car was an import this model was not available in the US normally.

Sounds a tad steep to me.

New radiator was around $400 for our '94. Don't think we ever did the water pump though. Watch those power steering hoses also. Those puppies cost around $250 for two little hoses plus labor.

Don't get me started on brake jobs...

Nah, it seems about right... figure they have to usually have to drain all the coolant and replace it all... add the uberexpensive BMW parts and about 3-4 hrs of "labor" and you're there at about 600 depending on the labor rate.

sounds about right. cheaper than audi dealer, they charge about $700 for just the labor to change the water pump on the 2.8 30v and 3.0 30v V6.

Sounds right. Water pump R&R on newer imports is spendy and labor intensive. If your car has a timing belt, you usually want to have that done at the same time because it involves all the same work.
