i just bought a aopen 256mb geforce 6600 card, and in my system whenever i put it in the system won't boot, and the post says the problem is in the pci matrix

i can still run my old agp card, and in fact swap them in and out without difficulty, the old card still works, but the image is poor.. I think it's going out, and the new one won't boot at all. it won't even complete the post..

i don't think i'm doing anything wrong, but i don't want to leave this guy bad feedback on ebay if it's my fault

I have a abit motherboard. it's the AI7.. here's a link http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/products.php?categories=1&model=147

any help.

There's no reason why that card shouldn't work. How is your power supply? Did the 6600 require an additional power connector?

yeah, most of the 6600 and 6600GT's all require power connector to be plugged in.
Make sure you have a good quality 350-400Watt power supply or better for these newer cards.

i don't see any additional power connectors. i have the card in my hands. it's got the typical connectors.

plus i'm running an antec sonata case with the antec powersupply.. it's i believe 350...

i think i got screwed by ebay

I would try the card in another system. If you were having issues with your other card, there may be something else wrong with your system.

the only deal is that i went and bought a new motherboard just to try and avoid this, but i will try the new system idea, i got a buddy across the street maybe we can try it in his.
