So I signed up for Earthlink DSL nearly two months ago. It took them three attempts to activate my line, for reasons irrelevant. Then even after they activated the line, I waited 10 more business days, and NO HARDWARE! No modem in the mail, no NIC, not even software... so I call them up and complain, by now it was about 1 1/2 months since I placed the order, when their customer service said "7 to 10 business days" from placing the order to being online. So yesterday I get my Earthlink package in the mail.
They are *supposed* to send this to everyone who signs up:

these are generic ADSL modems...
instead, they sent me this:
http://www.zyxel.com/product/dsl/p642s.htm
So did I get a good deal? Heh...
However, it does seem to drop the ADSL connection occasionally; I'm running Win2K Server, anybody know why this might be happening? Takes about 30 seconds after the drop to re-recognize the connection, which is a real pain in the middle of playing CS....
