Did I get a bad Nvidia card?

When I first got the card I did a video stress test with Counter Strike Source. I got 118 FPS. That was better than my 89 that i was getting with my X800pro. A few days later I put in ATITools .25 Beta 15 in because I saw peole OCing the card with them. I installed it, and didn't do ANY kind of overclocking. I thought I would do the video test again. Now this time I only got 89 FPS. I went out of CS, closed ATITools, ran the test again and THIS time I got 91. I am not sure if ATItraytools has anything to do with it or what. But if I am getting the same FPS as my old X800Pro, then I am selling the 7900GS. Anybody have any idea why my card's FPS dropped so much? Thanks.

drivers, amount of ram available when testing

all in all you should be getting higher min fps with your current card which is much more important than your average

is there a test I can use for the min fps? The drivers I was told are the best are TweaksRus XTreme-G 91.45. Are those drivers good?

The rest of my system: AMD 3500+ 2 rirgs RAM

yes, but I didn't in Safemode (didnt think I had to) but I just ran it in safemode. Should I reinstall the Nvidia drivers too?

I retested my fps in CSS and it's still just gtting over 100 fps. What else could I do?

WTF? Why are you using ATI Tray Tools with Nvida.
They have their own:
http://nvtweak.laptopvideo2go.com/

Second, you NEED TO RUN DRIVER CLEANER PRO IN SAFEMODE IN ORDER FOR IT TO WORK CORRECTLY (lol)
Uninstall the drivers like normal (from device manager) first.
Then reboot into safemode and use driver cleaner pro with nvidia profile (then cab cleaner)
Then reboot and install the new drivers. Recommendation for driver:
http://www.tweaksrus.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=595&Itemid=1

Then report back :)
(and you can use RivaTuner for all your overclocking/tweaking needs needs (or coolbits for just OCing))

Ok I want ot do this RIGHT now so I will ask a few dumb questions:

1st. When I hear "uninstall drivers" I just go into add/remove programs and remove the dirvers there. Or do you mean to just remove the video crad?
2nd. When I go to remove the driver with Drive Cleaner pro, I just add the nVidia driver to the list. But I dont uderant what you mean by "cab cleaner."

1.) Unistall drivers to me means going into device manager (in System in CP) and uninstalling it from their.

2.) Cab cleaner is part of Driver Cleaner Pro. It's in one of the menus just look for it (it could take a while to do so be pateint).
Also you don't have to add it to the list. All you have to do is select the profile and hit the clean buttom. The list is only if you need to run multipule cleaners. (and by Nvidia Profile I mean just plain Nvidia. The other ones are for chipset, sound, etc..)

Your CPU limited. It's no big deal. With any source game with that kind of card your bound to be CPU limited at certain resolutions. Your fine with 109.

that is kinda low...what resolution and IQ(aa/af) settings are you gaming at. i get usually around 170 with no aa/af 12x10 in the CSS stress test and this is with a 7800gt(490/1200) and a 3700 newark @2.7ghz

My 3DMark05 score is 7145. My System is a AMD 3500+ with 2 gigs of ram. IS this score good? I see other people with a lesser system getting better scores.. (granted the one was a 3000+ oced while mine is not)....

How much AA and AF is enabled, and what resolution are you playing at?

Just to give another point of reference.
3700+ @ 2.5gh
x800xl (411/513)
1280x1024, no AA, 2x AF, settings on high

122 fps

I am getting the feeling that the cause ofr the FPS issue is becuase of my AMD3500+. Maybe my PC just cant get any higher FPS. Not so much the video card's fault. What do you guys think?

Maybe you are CPU limited. Can you really tell the difference between 100 fps and 80 fps in real games? I can't. Try using 4xAA/16XAF and see how those results stack up to the benchmarks. That will certainly remove any potential CPU bottleneck.

Running an Opteron 165 @ 7x360FSB - 2.52GHz. 2GB RAM. 7900GS at stock clocks 450/660 (just tested it for ya). Will run it again at normal running range of 550/820 and report back with score then.

3DMark05 - 7412.
Under settings I clicked the default button to have everything at defaults. That's at 1024x768.

3DMark05 @ 550/820 - 8978

I think you're right, especially in source games. It was posted before, but the physics in source games make them more cpu dependent. Seems like you've got a few options from here.
1) Since you're cpu bound, just turn up the eye candy and live with it.

2) Overclock your 3500+, which should be pretty easy to get an extra 250Mhz or so.

3) Upgrade.
