And load? Use ATITool (works fine with my 7900GS, the program shouldn't be an issue) and enable the "temperature monitoring" under the settings menu. Then run the 3D View on the main window and let the card heat up. Make sure it says your card is running at 450/330 (ATITool reports memory at 1/4 of it's actual speed, or 1/2 what coolbits/rivatuner would show) which is stock/default.

The new Nvidia drivers allow temperature monitoring as well.

Maybe he has good temps where the sensors are located, but what if it's just one memory chip that isn't making good contact with the HS? In that case, you're probably better off with an RMA rather than risking voiding the warranty by removing and reseating.

The reason I say use ATITool's 3D View thing is because you can watch the temps rise, unlike a game where the desktop is hidden during game, and when you shell out the card is already cooled a bit. Also, ATITool will track min, max, and average temp in settings area.

my fan always seesm to be running higher all the time too. I'll get ot ATITool after class.
