Did I get a 35 watter M-2400XP?

I recently purchased a mobile 2400XP supposed to be 35watts and the description says default 1.35v. Everytime I set my bios to whatever the defaults are, it sets the vcore to 1.45 which is the spec for the 45watt.

I am curious if I got the 45watt even though I ordered a 35watt. Steppings don't tell me anything iqyha0402SPMW.

My mother board is an Abit AN7 with the newest bios release.

I say again, default bios setting sets this at 1.45v. I know its not that much of a difference but I paid a premium to specifically get the 35 watter.

Any repsonse or answers will be greatly appreciated.

While I am not exactly sure, it looks like the ones at excaliberpc.com.

One other thing, from my reading on the subject, its my understanding that not many desktop boards recoginize these as what they are, and thus that may be why you are getting 1.45V default, just try manually setting it to 1.35V.

Thanks for the quick reply. The only reason I am unsatisfied is because I still have my Tbred 1700+ that will do 2500mhz at 1.775 and this new barton does 2400 at 1.775 and not any higher. Sigh.

the IQYHA0402 says nothing about the voltage

you have to look at the first line of the code

it should be something like

AXMA2400FXQ4C

X = J then it's a 35 watter
X = Q then it's a 45 watter

no point in trying to get a new chip if your 1700 does 2.5 already even if you hit 2.7 200mhz won't make that much difference in the real world

sure there is! its fun to test chips!

geek<----me :D

anyways i think the 512 L2 cache vs the 256 L2 cache makes a difference along with the extra 200mhz (assuming you can hit 200 higher)

nice dealing with you kia!

nope he meant 2.5 ghz i have a 1700 that will do that too.
and besides holy smokes 2.5 ghz is an100% oc that aint bad in my book
the secret of a mobile is that they run cooler and use less power at the same clock because they are the sweetest chips in the batch
i run at 2.2 ghz 1.35 vcore happy as a clam and my temps never exceed 44 at load
