You know it wouldn't be difficult to verify the identity of the people she is talking to if you bothered to talk to her about it. If it's people her own age I don't think it's a big deal. Frankly I think by the time she's 16 she's going to hate you, her parents and will likely end up getting pregnant or something stupid because your are so severly restricting her personal freedom. But I guess that's what happens when you don't talk to a kid and just react on innuendo and suspicion.
You're mistaken about the "by the time she's 16" part - she's hated me since the day she moved here at age 3. Ever since her "mommy" ran off to Colorado with a fscking fugitive, she's been fighting EVERYBODY tooth and nail about EVERYTHING. We damn near signed her back over to her mother and put her on a bus, but my retard sister wouldn't sign the papers taking her back. As far as verifying the identity of people, that's easy for me to do, but the issue is that she didn't even ask, she just got the information and gave it away.
As for the getting knocked up stuff, I don't think there's ever been a question about that, she's ALWAYS refused to go to school if she isn't allowed to dress like a streetwalker. Her mother/my sister got her started on that when she was a little tiny baby - she thinks it's "pretty." To this day, her favorite movie is "Showgirls" (Don't ask, more of my sister's infinitely awesome parenting skills) and she still says she wants to be one when she grows up. HURRAH.
Oh, and personal freedom stops at the threshold of responsibility. If I don't return a library book and they won't let me take out a new one until I pay the fines, they're restricting my personal freedom, but just because I was irresponsible.

isn't making her use a mac punishment enough?
lolShe should be put into a prison camp until she's 18 and receive regular beatings for her disregard of the rules.
To the OP, seriously man, taking away the computer is not the answer. You sound like a bit of a maniac with your ranting. Disable all internet access and do a better job teaching her how dangerous it is to give out personal information.
Oh and about passwords, you really can't win. Rule #1--don't use the same password in multiple places. Rule #2--never write your passwords down. Try to meet both those requirements after a week online and you either fail or have the memory of an elephant.

I think she's a bastard child, unloved by both her deadbeat Father, and flakey Mother (who's dating a convict).
From the posts that I've read, no one loves her. Her Mother, Her Father, Her Grandparents nor her Uncle. No wonder she's rebellious and looking for attention on the internet.
Hrmm...
I believe the girl needs unconditional love.
Just my $0.02.
BTW, I'm a gonna read the rest of the posts to see what I've missed then post a more in depth reply. Cheers. :brokenheart:

Yes, she was aware of the rules and boundaries set for her, and she has broken them on numerous occasions (By crying until an adult gave in). Namely:
One hour intarweb/night (The line she uses to dial-in is the voice line)
DO NOT FSCKING PUT PASSWORDS ANYWHERE EXCEPT YOUR MIND
No online games. Period.
No filling out forms - period.
One email account - period.
DO NOT SAVE SH!T TO THE DESKTOP
Do not abuse the Macintosh internal speaker by using it to play rap music. Your headphones are fine, but my speaker is not.
And what was in the envelope? A letter, some pictures of a little girl and a cute puppy and some magnets (wtf?)
You might want to check and see...maybe the letter is benign.Originally posted by: EyeMWing

I bet she'd die for a simple hug. Screw the computer crap, that's superficial. This girl needs love.

Haha... those are some pretty dumb rules. Do you actually refer to yourself as "the Administrator?"
Negative. My brother does, though. And what's so dumb about them?
Excessive time spent on voice line = bad
Passwords stored in text file = for morons
Games = IMMENSE waste of time since it takes about an hour to load a flash game @ 33.6
Forms = Potential for disaster, seeing that 99.9999% of forms on teh intarweb sign you up for a pr0n list or spam or some other such nonsense
One email = For ease of monitoring
No desktop saving = That just pisses me off, other people use that computer
Rap music = suck
