I tried installing a Linux variant to do a dual boot.
First, it was Fedora. I partitioned the HD ad dedicated 30GB for Fedora. I tried installing from a thumb drive with the Fedora thumb drive loader program...no go. It tries to enter the OS, then it just stops. I try an older version (Fedora 14), I get in, it installs. Now, after installation, I try to boot to Fedora...Success? Nope. It just fails and freezes upon starting up the OS. I say screw it, I will go back to Ubuntu.
Without doing research, I just get rid of the partitions that would hold Fedora. Bad idea. I elected to have Grub overwrite Windows' MBR. Arggggg....my fault...although, it's only a 30 second fix if you have the Windows 7 disc.
I fix MBR, I install Ubuntu via Wubi. It automatically sets up the dual boot for you. Nice.
After I select Ubuntu in the dual boot menu, it then proceeds to go to Grub. Is this supposed to happen? Shouldn't it go straight to Ubuntu?
