A client recently approached me about redoing a company illustration for them. Basicaly they lost all original versions of the image so they needed it redrawn with electronic versions.

I'm NOT a graphics designer, I can't draw for crap, so I had to outsource it to a friend that I thought could use the money. She agreed to do it for $80, this includes digitization and spotting.

So I sent out a proposal for $150, my cut for... uh for taxes and my time ;)

so $150 in all.

The image will be used for advertising in publications and newsletters.

Not too high. I've seen some graphics cost $200+. If they don't want to pay for it, they can go somewhere else. ;)

It depends on the project but to me $150.00 sounds cheap enough to get new original art work.

$150?
Only if it would take 1/2 a day to complete.
More like $300 for me to deal with their problem.

I just wrote out the proposal. no work has been done yet. But the picture is fairly simple and I have high confidence in my friend. She's got a graphics design degree :)

artwork ain't cheap. just look at how much people charge to create logos.
If the company was cool with $150, you could have gotten more ;)

It's not a very large compan >50 employees. But ya I'm starting to think they would have taken $200.
