Did I buy an HDMI card and not realize it?

Several months ago I bought a Sapphire X1600 Pro AGP for my HTPC. Looking at the specs on Sapphire's site, it lists the following:

DVI 1.0 compliant / HDMI interoperable and HDCP ready **

*Specifications are subject to change without notice and may vary depending upon product sku*

Did I luck out here? How can I determine if I got HDMI/HDCP hardware?

(HTPC n00b)

well hdmi is a small thin port, looks sort of like a really thing usb. y ou cant really tell if you have hdcp.

i doubt you have it though, the chips are all hdcp ready, but they need a special encryption chip to make it turn on.

Well DVI is compatible with HDMI so that might have something to do with it and well if it says HDCP ready then its probably because it is.

DVI-to-HDMI cable is what you'd need, since HDMI essentially is DVI plus digital audio on the same cable. HDCP "ready" probably means it doesn't actually have it ;)

Just for the record, I found this fine print on ATI's x1600 GPU spec page:

** Currently there is no commercially available HDCP content. ATI's Radeon® X and Radeon® 9550 series of GPUs are capable of processing HDCP signals ("HDCP ready"), however ATI does not presently manufacture any graphics cards which are HDCP ready. Some third parties manufacture graphics cards containing ATI GPUs -- you can inquire of them which models, if any, -- are HDCP ready.

So I guess I'll ask Sapphire at some point if I got lucky or not.

Or, how to get this in the USA: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000HOJPCS/kelkoompcpc-cs-21/ref=nosim
