Did I buy a SP1 edition of HALO 2?

Hey.
bought a Halo 2 for pc, from the "old and damaged" pile in some pc store...
I get a "startup.exe - entry point not found" error messege that reads : "the procedure entry point createprocesswithtokenW could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll"
I checked and downloaded... I have that DLL.

Googled it, says something about that Dll changed from SP1 to SP2 and that's why the DVD won't recognize it.
Anything I can do about it? normally I would just return the game, but it's from that pile... low price, no guarantee...

umm, Vista only has SP1, there's no SP2 out.

Not talking about Vista. I have XP SP2 .. and I get that error msg..

Link gave me a HALO 1 support page. but made me remember HALO is microsoft, so I'll keep looking there..

Halo 2 is for windows Vista ONLY

yeah, got that at the end.
saw some articles about releasing a patch to make it work with XP ... but nothing serious or official....
I want to play it, but now bad enough to do Vista.
