I swear before it said 1.8 ghz. The bios shows 200. Why does the software show 201? Is the software wrong or the bios?

The software is right as it reports the exact speed. The BIOS is just a setting, the motheboard tries to get as close as possible to that setting, but it but it will vary from one board model to another.

Ask people to post their exact stock frequency, and you'll see most (if not all) won't be at the exact MHz...
Maybe try setting it manually to 200 in the BIOS, instead of having it on Auto?

My Epox's BIOS is always 1 lower than what is shows in windows. IE with my OC I set it to 244 in the BIOS and in windows it will be 245. along with fluctuations. Either way if you are counting the bus speed to be 201 and you think thats OCing. I HIGHLY doubt AMD would void your warrenty. First off they have no way of telling that and 2nd most mobo's will OC the CPU a little bit just like this anyways.

My Abit NF8-V runs my processor at 200.8MHz default, thus, CPU-Z counts it as 201MHz.

Don't worry about it, you're not overclocking your processor.

Thanks. I'll leave it alone I guess and assume the mobo is a little off-- which is apparently normal.

Since when has software been able to overclock on the fly like this? :p For ever? Out of curiosity is there free software that also sets speeds like this easytune5 software does? Easytune simply strikes me as crappy software.

If you took 10 similar mobo/chip combos, you'd likely get 10 slightly different chip and memory speeds.

There is also the tendency of some mobo makers to deliberately add a couple Mhz to win benchmark tests.

It's mostly just normal variations in the clock generator tolerances, though.

ROFL!!!

LMFAO literally

This is the funniest thread i have seen in quote some time. What makes it more hilarious is that Infohawk has 7000+ posts in Anandtech.
Definitely a guy that hangs out mostly in OT, Politics or FS/T :p

Anyways,
*go to bios, usually its 'del' key, just read the the first screen on boot up and see what it says what key to use to get in bios.
*Find the options that would indicate settings for the cpu/bios/fsb
*get in there then you might actually see that the fsb is set to 201.
*if it is then change it there.

but as everyone said, fsb jumps up and down and not always consistent due to several factors like the voltage from the PSU. the PSU doesnt always stream you consistent power, but it stays close within 5% margin which most quality psu's do.

get a app named cpu-z and it will show you in real time that the vcores and fsb always change.

I have never seen any Anandforum member as pathetic as you...
what kind of things do you post to get your 7000 posts?

how are you gonna void the warranty from overclocking it? you know how hard it is to fry a chip nowadays from overclocking? The only way you could fry a chip is if your heatsink isnt seated properly or your running some crazy volts through your processor. If you learned a little bit about overclocking you would see its not a bad thing at all and with your chip you could get a couple hundred extra mhz for free.

how can some1 with 7000+ posts be asking such kind of questions...guess you're enjoying the attention...feel more like a spoiled brat...my 3500+ runs 2210Mhz when it's supposes to run 2.2Ghz...
