I know I am dating myself but then again what post haven't I? So at this point in the show's opening these bananas are sitting there and they last for six long seasons. Amazing hor fruit lasts that long back then.

I remember Steptoe & Son (which, as I understand, this was a kind of US remake of?).

(The former featuring the standard UK sitcom sad/comedic trope of ambition constantly frustrated by the limits imposed on lives by a class system)

Somewhat interesting that the US version made the characters black...and also that that didn't happen when they remade Shameless.
