Did everyone miss the FREE Logitech gamepad @ Staples B&M? HOT FREEBIE!!!

Saw the ad in Sunday's (12/17) ads section. Price was $8.94 or something like that, with an instant rebate of the whole price, sales tax might apply. No mail in no crap, and no limit, at least at my local store. The girls says " you only want two?" My wife was with me. I say " isnt there a limit?" She says " Not as far as I know!" I walked out with 8 FREE Logitech gamepads, HOT DEAL! This isnt an online deal, only B&M. Get them while they are HOT!

Does yours work good with games? I picked up a few but can't seem to work it right with Tombraider Chronicles demo. I calibrated and recalibrated. It seems to be jumpy(automatic movements in the game). Is there a program out there that might help.

Why am I complaining it was free.

and free last week at office depot with coupon in the flyer (no tax, no purchase)
everyone is giving out this gamepad.

Should you guys leave some for others who don't have a game pad yet?

I would rather pickup the MS freestyle pro free after rebate (check other threads).

I (actually a friend of mine) just went to the Staples at Milpitas, CA. These pads are sitting there for $8.95. However, there's also notes everywhere saying the instant rebate is a mistake so they will no longer honor it. I wonder if this is true for all Staples store? Anyone can confirm it in other stores?

Well I just got one along with my Elsa Graphics card from another thread. It was free from them, not to mention all they are doing is shipping it from another warehouse where they have some available because they were out in my area.

My local store (SLC, UT) is honoring the deal, and had about 20 on the shelf and at least as many stacked in customer service for customer holds. I walked out with a pair, no problem, no tax, although the guy ringing me up had to call his manager to figure out how to put the coupon in.

It is not a mistake...The manager from the store I went to called their main office to conferm it is not a mistake and also that there is no limit... I walked out with the last 10 pads minus the 2 I gave to a hot woman when I was checking out...

Yep! And with the gamepads you can push just the Right buttons!

I got one of the free logitech gamepads..IT IS SUCK!!!! has two buttons on the front four on top..But the two on the front are the same as two of the top ones..No drivers in Windows works with it except the Gravis Gamepad..No drivers found on Logitechs site either...

If someone has a fix for this tell me..it wouldn't be that bad a gamepad if you could set all controls individual..

Thanks Sluggo and everyone for the information about drivers.

If anyone is interested they still had a lot left at 5:00 PM at the Staples at the corner of Clopper Rd. and Quince Orchard Ave. in Gaithersburg, MD. The rebate didn't come out at the check out counter so they had to reprocess it at the service desk. They didn't complain but there was some extra work.
