No, it's because golfing games are boring.

yeah, but you can make a good golf game without featuring the pga.

I actually can't disagree with that.
When did they stop with that? Last one I remember was Links 486, an upgrade of Links 386.
I remember this game that took place in the future and it had a store shelf that said Links 986 on it.

i own every Links game from LS 1998 all the way to 2003
and a bunch of course CDs as well.
not sure if a further release is planned by Microsoft. Tiger Woods games are definitely biting into the PC golf market, as they are much more simple and arcade-like. (i play them because they're close to their console versions, which I enjoy).
Links is more of a simulation... it's much harder, but more rewarding when you make a nice shot. Haven't played it in ages though.
heheh. just think, you actually handled floppy disks. i bet there are already members here who never have and never will. i had hundreds of 5 1/4" floppies for my C=64. be proud of your geeky nostalgia!Originally posted by: Random Variable

I had the original Links and Links 386 Pro with virtually all of the add-on courses. It must have been at least 50 floppy disks. I feel old.![]()
I still had my C64 up until about a year ago. I remember having several golf games but the names elude me. There was this one that if you hit your ball in a bunker in front of a body of water, you had to restart the game because you couldn't hit the ball out of the bunker more than like 20 yards or something and you couldn't forfeit the hole or take an uplayable lie. The prior version of that golf game had no bunkers but had water absolutely everywhere.Originally posted by: meltdown75
