Looks like they have been wiped clean. The link to their forums no longer resolves. If you *discover* the reason why they bitbucketed the forums, post it here. I liked reading opinions on episodes of Mythbusters and American Chopper. :(

Whenever I remember what Discovery Channel was like when I was little, and how I started to witness its desecration starting in high school... I still weep for mankind.

Discovery is dead to me.
Boring "reality" shows.

Discovery Science is MUCH better!
Hell even National Geographic is better than Discovery...

So true. Other than the occasional Mythbusters episode Discovery is useless. They never run documentaries any more.

Watch a mythbuster's show more critically. "A.B.C.D" <commercial.> "Before the commercial, the boys were B.C.D.... E" <commercial.> "C.D.E...F" <commercial.> You could cut and paste the entire unique contents of an episode into about 6 minutes.

I didn't say it was perfect. Only that it was slightly more educational than shows about idiots digging in the dirt for shiny metal.

I like Mythbusters. Haven't seen an episode in a long time, though.

They got the wrong conclusion on exploding discs in computer drives. It has happened to me multiple times.

I suspect it was filled with people like us, saying things like we say.

So yes, it was closed.

VH1's 'Behind the Music' had the same tease/commercial/recap style

I used to go to thier Deadliest Catch forums.

Hmmm. I noticed recently that the Syfy forums went down for "maintenence" about 2 weeks ago and Syfy took the link to them off the site.

I wonder if networks are getting rid of their forums and switching to social media?

Sames them a lot to maintain/pay for the forums servers. I dread the day that ATOT will be social media/Facebook based. Neffing/trolling will be more difficult for some. :'(

those guys on the gold programs are total dbags. they go to foreign countries and destroy the land/jungle, ruin the lives of the locals and take their gold.

what is moonshining and why is it illegal? is it just because its under the table and tax free?

discovery and national geographic are as terrible as the history channel now. tlc went down the toilet ages ago.

i don't see any reason why a channel should have a forum for their shows - paying for and advertising a place to criticize and point out faults in the show, channel and sponsors, while the positives are almost non-existent. then you have to get into policing such a forum and assuming responsibility for any fallout. it's much better to do nothing, let people have online discussions somewhere else on someone else's dime, take the the tiny positive and ignore the negative.

I am 'this' close to getting rid of satellite/cable all together. The only things I would miss are occasional sports. Maybe I'll cancel it this week. Everything I watch is via torrents anyway....

Check Facebook

Most commercial sites are dumping forums and replacing with FB.

This, ESPN did it almost a year ago and now the article comments and UNarguably horrendous. Disturbing trend especially since I don't have a FB account and don't plan on ever having one. Fuckers.
