What happened? I heard that Lian Li (The cases) was going up in prices because of a Tsunami in Japan.......is this what happened to Crucial?

My boss laid in a huge supply a couple weeks ago. He says it will go back down somewhat after the new year, that this is end-of-year and holiday demand.

Wow, its over $50.00 right now on Crucial's web site! Even with the AnandTech discount its still at $49.55! ... Guess I'll be waiting until after the New Year to upgrade to DDR / Athlon XP ... I just hope prices go back down after the holidays like sciencetoy said.

imho, memory will be going up and stay up there.

According to cnet.com, Hitachi has cut down memory production by 50% and converting some to producing other than desktop ram.

May be more memory will follow since they are not making good money as they used to.

Looks like Mushkin ram is way up too. I think I remember 512MB PC2100 SDRAM going for something like $80, now it's $120.

It was actually lower than that - more like $57 or $59 for the Mushkin 512 MB sticks.
