Did Crossfire Setup Fry My Onboard Realtek Audio

Decided to setup 2 HD7950's on my Asus P8z77- Pro i7-3770k setup to improve FPS in gaming. Especially for games with ultra video settings. Started up my rig in X-fire mode and nothing connected to the realtek audio works.

I specifically got a high end AVR with 7.1 analog so I could have full control over audio. Now, nothing plugged in is detected and the optical plug no longer lights up.

So are these symptoms of a fried audio board.?
 
Did you check if installing the AMD card made "Digital Audio HDMI" the default audio output device? In other words, audio may be routing through your video card now instead of your sound card.

I've changed it to Realtek optical, but there's no sound and the port doesn't light up. The analog option is greyed out saying nothing is plugged in, but it is. Below is the only setting that produces sound.

 
Maybe you should try reinstalling Realtek's drivers? Even better the most recent version.

I do have crossfire setups on my rigs No1 and No3 and my realtek devices work properly. Crossfire certainly wouldn't fry any on board circuitry.
 
That's interesting. I have RealTek on-board audio with an SLI setup and there's no problem as of yet. You may have to buy a PCie sound card from Creative like a used Audigy 4.
 
Removed all cards and plugged monitor into onboard video. Used AMD driver removal tool to uninstall all Catalyst components. Uninstalled Realtek driver and re-installed. Still no analog or digital onboard audio.

Performed fresh install of Windows 7 with no video cards inserted. Loaded Realtek drivers. Same result, no audio. Not ever the optical was generating that red light.
 
I was in the same boat as you at one point, I installed a second card and in the process I shorted out my onboard audio controller (ESD). I would suggest RMA'ing the board or getting a dedicated sound card.
