just to give us a $50 off coupon.

I went to buy the Kitchen-Aid Pro stand mixer today at costco since they had a $50 off coupon. Went I got there I noticed it was $299 before the coupon. I could have sworn last month they had it for $249 without the coupon.

I still ended up getting it, but I think costco is playing games now.

this would be the first time I have ever heard of any company engage in this tactic.

That doesn't sound like Costco's way of doing things. Are you sure it's the same model? Kitchen-Aid has a whole bunch of different models that start with "Kitchen-Aid Pro...". For example there's a $50 difference between the Pro 450 and Pro 500

not costco's way of doing things?

lol right. there way of doing things is claiming Eminent domain and taking a persons property for cheap to build.

but hell raising the price to put it on "sale" is to evil for them..

Is this one of the weird models? They don't call it a Pro 600, but it's got the same 575 watt motor. It's not listed on Kitchen-aid's site. The Pro 600 has a 6 quart bowl, the Costco one has a 5.5 quart bowl.

yup, and the lift handle doesnt have the rubber grip. My fiancee got the pro610 from W-S yesterday because she just wasn't sure about the Costco one and preferred the 6 qt and rubber handle grip. i think the W-S one was 400$ before tax, but came with a 50$ MIR.

I dunno anything about mixers, although she did make me very awesome cookies and bread :D I couldn't care less how much it costs after eating such good homemade bread :)

Yes it is 550HD the same power as the 600, but with a 5.5 QT Bowl.

Someone I talked to who got one recently insist though it was always 299.

Unless you are baking A LOT get the Sunbeam MIxmmaxer. I've been really happy wit $100 price and I bake about once a week. I have the KA food processor though after going through several. Every food processor is garbage compared to KA. Not so with mixer.

Is my sarcasm meter broken?

There are TONS of retail stores that do this

Your inability to recognize the obvious sarcasm in his post has nothing to do with a fictitious "sarcasm meter," but instead stems from the fact that you are a dumb dumb.
