I'm just outside Philly, looks like I'm consistently getting 1.5KB/s.
Ok not FIOS speed but I'll take it.

They are still evil in my opinion though!

Aren't 12k modems still kind of pricey? I think I'll wait until the technology matures. Only fools rush into every latest trend that comes around. Remember 8track? fool me once, shame on ? shame on you. Fool me ? you can't get fooled again. :^D

You're outside of Philly and you DON'T have FIOS???? You're free of the Comcast vice grip and yet you still choose to deal with them. Explain yourself!

They've been doing massive upgrades to DOCSIS 3.0 everywhere. Most all customers should see a speed increase.

That's around 15 Mbs. Pretty good. You may have access to even more speed if you call them up.

I don't know about Comcast, but today I noticed that my Time Warner cable transfer speeds were much higher than normal here in San Antonio, topping out at 1.3 MB/s.

I noticed that last night. I seen 1 MB/s and thought it was 1 KB/s and about to cancel it (I don't see MB/s ever). It ended up slowing down but steady at 600+ k/s still.

Last I checked I have 5mbps down/384kbps up. I'll have to do a speed test at home tonight. I am in NY.

Yea, I double checked by downloading a large file (200MB+) and ran speedtests on speakeasy.net.
Looks like I'm averaging 15-18Mb/s

Judging from what I can get from my neighbor's unsecured WiFi, it looks like they're getting 10up/2down now.

Not bad... I'd consider switching from DSL if Comcast wasn't so damn evil!

Just think, in the future, you will be able to download a WHOLE song in less than a day! Gosh, I sure hope I around when that happens!

Meh. Comcast uses their "Powerboost" crap and claims "up to". On FIOS you get consistent speeds. So for the same money I get a consistent 20/5 instead of Comcast's "up to" 20/4.

Yeah I ran a speed test and I can get about 8mbps down but still 384kbps up. Better than nothing, but damn is my connection slow compared to the average cable connection here.

I got this as well, although I've had the new speeds since the first of the month. I just happen to be up when they did the upgrade, and for a brief time, I was downloading at 50mbps. I average between 15-17mbps now, with 5mbps up.

Closer to 10, but regardless, it's gone up. I was downloading a torrent today and was hitting close to 1MB/sec. I almost shat myself.

Just got Comcast, highest speed test so far is 22/3. Not too shabby, I get about 1.0MB/s steady download from certain sites...So I'm guessing that the "burst" speed crap bumps up those speed tests! I live in Western MA

 How is it? I'm thinking of shelling out for 22/5, but I don't want to buy another cable modem for DOCSIS 3.
