Did Comcast/ATTBI get rid of their newsgroups?

With Comcast, there is a 1gb/month bandwidth limit for newsgroups.

Anyway, I suspect you're still using netnews.attbi.com.

The new address is netnews.comcast.net.

On the 30th is when the transition happened. You'll also find that, while your mail.attbi.com account still works, it will seem like you have no mail.. because it's all automatically forwarded to mail.comcast.net now.

At least, that's what happened with us here in Oregon.

Oh well, I guess. My main gripe is the mail thing, as I only use usenet a couple of times a month. At least you can keep your attbi.com email address until December 2004, though. So that gives you plenty of time to convert.

I would be screaming bloody murder if they killed the attbi.com email off quickly.

I haven't even used my email from attbi. I have been sticking with my yahoo account and my personal website acct

er.. netnews.comcast.net = netnews.attbi.com

so no bandwidth limits if you're using it.

if they switched you over to giganews (involves creating an account), then there is a 1GB/month limit.

and it is rumored that giganews (for previous comcast users / non-attbi converts) will be replaced with the old attbi newsservers which are now netnews.comcast.net.
