never knew 3 sets of 70lb ass to calves bbell squats can be so draining

i literally fell to the ground 5 times already, and can't get up

had to use arms to push off the chair and table to get up, now i know how elderly
move the way they do.....and showering was a nerve racking experience!

well it's about time to use some sick days anyway

take a cold bath fool...and stop being so foolish..

the point is to tear some of the muscles so they can grow back...not to actually tear the limb off

You people

I'll admit, I was hurting a little today. After my workout, I decided to be a little brave and jump o nthe erg machine...ouch..that machine holds nothing back in immediately letting you know that you are out of shape:(

I've been going to the gym again for a few weeks now, I can't wait til the results really start showing...I'm already happy from what I can see and it's just going to get better.

Yeah, me too. I used to be a real gymrat but fell away from it for a few years. I am liking feeling strong and fit(well, fitter anyway). This wasn't any new years resolution either... I am back to working out regular. I'm not sure why I ever stopped.

i thought what the heck, let's use 1/2 the weight and go deep....what a difference!
by 3rd set i could barely get the bar back to the rack and my legs were screaming for
glycogen refill.....my inner thigh muscles (adductor?) still have that involuntary feeling of wanting to squeeze together...

why cold water and not warm compress like heating pad? won't the legs cramp up/twitch even more from the cold?

You are gonna want to rest for about a wekk at least, it sound like you did yourself pretty good. If you do not give yourself proper rest, you will not gain muscle, you may actually lose some by creating too many tears and scars in the muscle. I'm sure you knew something to the extent of this already.

Great stuff :D

It is 'usual' that you feel your legs are shot to pieces and just lumps of lead. You can barely work and moving the muscle is painful :p

But that is just lack of training and you probably didn't do them beffore or your just not use to doing it. All the way down all the way up is the way to go.

You will get use to it.

Leg day for me sucks. Some j@ck#ss decided it was good to put the squat racks and all the other leg type workiuts on the 2nd floor of our base gym. So going down those stairs is usually a 20min adventure for me

Listen to this man, he is correct no matter what your buddies say. I assume you do want to be able to walk 15 years from now?

Nah, it strengthens the knees, making them better for you!

I always do the leg press (sled), Hack squat, leg extensions, curls and calves. A few weeks ago, I added in 4 sets of ass-to-calf squats. I really feel the pain in my groin area, when my inner thigh connects to my torso, the next day. It feels great though...

I second yellowfiero, ass to grass is the way to go for that explosive power. Make sure you stretch well and do 3-4 warmup sets before hand.

I remember last year for the first training for lacrosse, my legs were so beat that i literally had to hold onto the railings going down the stairs because if i didnt i would just fall.
