Did apollo 13 astronaut use duct tape to fix the broken capsule?

I know they suffered an oxygen tank explosion and made it back to earth..did they really use duct tape to fix the broken capsule?

The used duct tape as part of making a home-brew carbon-dioxide scrubber, not to 'hold the capsule' together...

it truly amazes me that those events really happened and the astronauts got back safely. Lost Moon was a pretty good book too (basis for the movie).

No, they didn't fix something that was broken. They used duct tape to adapt filters used to convert carbon-dioxide to oxygen from the command module to work in the LEM. At least, that's the way it went in the movie...I think that was fairly representative of what really happened, at least from the point of view of the problems the crew and ground control had to overcome anyway.
