It might have been me, but I have never seen Jon Stewart get so pissed off at a guest. He tore Bernard Goldberg apart. Oh, and he had good reason to also... that guy is an idiot.

I thought he was one of the best guests on the show, simply because the segment was so interesting. I usually turn off the DS when I realize the guest segment isn't going to be good that day. I disagreed with that guy tremendously, but it was a captivating conversation/debate

you had me for a second; I thought you were about to form an insightful, relevant idea, then it all fell apart at the end. Better luck next time.

you must be working from your republican party playbook - if you don't like what the source is saying simply attack his credibility? (in this case his intelligence)

so how about that OT? does anyone have a link to a transcript so we can actually discuss this instead of saying, "yeah - jon stewart is dumb so whatever happens on his show is worthless."

Yeah, Jon Stewart is 'brilliant'...

being funny takes intelligence...

yep, that's why those writers are there...

yeah - except that he writes for his own show.

comic timing also takes intelligence.

he writes, along with thirteen other people. Give the other writers some credit (Stewart does; he's listed last when you watch the credits)

i didn't say he was the only writer - but he does write for the show. you seemed to imply that he isn't funny b/c he has writers. i was simply pointing out that he IS one of those writers that you are giving credit to.

Stewart, considered one of America's top social and comedic voices, has served as host, writer and executive producer of COMEDY CENTRAL's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" since January 1999.

Jon Stewart is an excellent comedian; he's also incredibly intelligent. And yes, he is one of the wroters for his show. But what I was talking about was Bernard Goldberg, who is by far one of the biggest morons I have seen on the Daily Show (besides those pornographers). What Jon Stewart was pointing out was the fact that in Goldberg's book, he lists people like MIchael Moore and Al Franken as 'screwing up America.' He even has the nerve to say that Jimmy Carter is screwing it up. Look, Carter was an awful president, but he has done so much good in this world since he left office. Stewart's point was that maybe he should be looking at people in power who are f!@#$%g up this country rather than someone like Barbara Streisand. And Stewart had no problem outsmarting Goldberg last night. And for people who think the Daily Show is BS, stop watching Fox News. Fox News is complete crap and 100% slanted towards the right.

I'm saying he is funny because he has writers. 13 of them. Which is why it's such a funny show. Take away those 13 other writers, and coming up with material 5 days a week gets a little tough. Even the book he wrote was written with his whole writers staff; one of which was the head writer for the show.

thanks for the link!

Ben Karlin joined "The Daily Show" as head writer in 1999 and has served as an executive producer for the series since 2003.

Although he did insult you (which was really stupid), his point is still valid. Daily Show watchers are more informed than Fox News, CNN, MSNBC watchers etc. So how about all you who are screaming "only libs watch that crap" actually try watching the show. Yes, the show has a slant, but it's kind of hard to refute much that they say (videos don't lie).

Edit: People like Davey who act as if they don't know why they're being flamed for saying something like "try thinking for yourselves libs" piss me off.

I don't see how anyone can dislike Stewart. He's about as fair and balanced as Fox News is, but he's damn funny. I disagree with him frequently, but still enjoy the show.
