"Nightly News" sounds generic, is that a network news program?

i'll vote "Why would I watch the news on TV when all I need is Slashdot and ATOT?"
although i get news from news.google.com and drudgereport.com

My point exactly....It's NBC's news broadcast...on at 6:30/7pm depending on market
 
i don't watch network news, ever

i do occasionally watch the local news, but only for the weather, when it is really bad
