Did anyone watch CNN Presents last night?

That show was extremely shocking and made me sick to my stomach...and it takes a lot for a television program to do that to me.

Anyone else see it?

I've only seen the Howard Dean one. Must TV whenever I get a chance to watch it. Sorta glad I missed this one though...

I suspect it's largely in part due to anti-gay sentiment, in addition to the fact that heterosexual relationships between post pubescent minor girls ("jailbait") and older male partners is ingrained as a cultural pehnomenon. Indeed, if it weren't expected at some level, there wouldn't even be all the winking, nudging, and "jailbait" jokes.

Playing up the "homosexual" pedophilia kills two birds with one stone: It is less common, and thus more sensationalistic - drawing greater viewer reaction, and it helps generally straight minded people to associate homosexuality with pedophilia - which is purely political.

I strongly suspect - with no confirming data, just a couple gender and sexuality psych courses - that gender selection rates in pedophiles are probably similar to the population that chooses age-appropriate partners. (i.e. the proverbial 1 in 10)

What also bothered me was all the kids breathing/sniffing the solvents in a plastic bag. They showed two kids "on a trip" with that stuff in a park. One of them was trying to pull the sun from the sky. Meanwhile, in the background people are sitting on benches just minding their own business. It's amazing to me how this world is and can be sometimes...
