Hi I cant seem to get any info on this board yet.I realise its probably real new and the store I found that sells them limits purchase to just 1 board so it must be a hot item.Price is 200$ also the most expensive I've found.Info says it uses AMD 761 266mhz fsb chipset.Supports pc2100/pc1600 DDR Sdram which I've noticed the price has gone down on also.Any comments ,opinions, death threats would be greatly appreciated. P.s. I want to use this setup for video-editing with at least 256k ram.Stability is my most concern.I cant wait to get my grubby lil hands on one.

I have it, and it is great. Perfectly stable and fast, my only problem came about when I tried to use the Asus iPANEL with it. I suggest you avoid that thing. If you have any specific questions, post here, or PM/email me.

hey raaboso
What speed processor are you running? Are you using a new c-type processor or are you using a regular athlon and running at 133mhz fsb?
Are you using pc2100 ddr ram?
Is it pretty fast? Do you have any benchmarks?
Sorry but i was contemplating upgrading to ddr in the future and just want some input from someone that has used it. Thanks a lot

Hey fitzhue,
I'm currently running a 1.2 GHz Tbird with the 200 FSB. I have 512 MB PC1600 RAM to go along with it. I'll be upgrading to one of the new, cooler 266 FSB Tbirds that are coming out later this year, and with that I will change to PC2100 RAM. All I can say is that it's definitely faster than my Intel P733 :) I don't have benchmarks yet, maybe later...

Would I recommend DDR? Hell yeah. It is faster and the stuff really isn't that much more expensive than regular PC133 stuff. DDR is the RAM of the future...

Hi Mr.Boso and I want to agree with you on the DDR ram,why settle for pc-133 when the DDR stuff is only a few bucks more.I just was curious what applications are you using your computer for???I want to dedicate mine just for video-editing with Adobe Premier, and Photoshop.I want to also add a firewire card and use Win2k pro os.I'm almost in the same boat with a sony vaio p3 700mhz here with the usual cheezy bloatware, thats ok for internet surfing.I'm sure that 1.2 gig T bird just spanks it.Thanks for the reply, and hopefully we'll hear from more DDR users.

Right now, I'm just beginning to get the comp up and running. Some CD burning, gaming, web browsing...that's about it. Running Win2K Pro, soon Win2K Server.

I just got an Asus A7M266 and 256MB of Samsung PC2100 (almost $300 for the memory alone) a couple days ago. I had a 1.2GHz Athlon that I used with it. I modified my A7M266 so that it would switch the multiplier to 9. I'm now running it at 9 x 133MHz with the memory at 266MHz DDR and 2-2-2 memory timings. This thing is wicked fast.
