Did anyone see Tony Snows 1st Press Briefing?

He really came off well. He didn't sound shifty when he dodged questions, the cancer thing was very genuine...generally a well spoken and honest and straightforward presentation.

Anyone else have any impressions of the new press secretary?

hmmmm.....

Yes, he used to be an anchor or something...

He isn't that bad, but he's at least better than the last guy...

No kidding, Scott always looked like he was covering up for the President molesting little kids or something...he always seemed nervous and shifty to me.

tony is a good guy, he'll do a better job than scott. he's better at bantering with the press since he is press, and more importantly he's a charismatic guy and ever since the press briefings have become televised reporters have done their best to look good on tv asking tough questions, making the pres sec. sweat. tony won't sweat, guys cool and collected. I was very offended earlier today at the person who started a thread citing snow making a "racist" remark during the press briefing this week. its ludicrous. tony's all class.

LOL exactly.

I've seen some of the worst crap and garbage on CBS and other stations...

What was the tagline after the Rathergate National Guard story in 2004?

"Well... the documents were false but the story is true"

hahaha

What arrogance

the same person who allegedly wrote the documents and agreed they were false also agreed that the portrayed the situation accurately.

Why would you be offended, it was the OP who made himself look the ass.

Hahahaha, he pulled the "Al-Qaeda doesn't support [blank]"
I admit, he has a hard job.

However, he's infront of a crowd of people that are so close to being on his side that calling them journalists hurt.

Here's my favorite Tony Snow moment, so far:

"MR. SNOW: Well, as I pointed out -- I mentioned this yesterday, and for -- let me see if I can find my quote, because I pulled it out. Chuck Hagel, as you may recall, made a fair amount of news over the weekend when he first said that -- let's see -- "Well, I want to listen to the details and I want to listen to the President," said Senator Hagel -- he said this on "This Week" on a competing network. But I would say this: I think we have to be very careful here. That's not the role of our military, that's not the role of our National Guard." That's what Senator Hagel said on Sunday. "

You can only "lie" so well. As long as Snow is dealing with the same degree of "truthiness", it doesn't matter if he sweats or not.
