That was an incredible comeback. I cried, ok, not really, but I yelled a lot. Some lamer asked me why I cared so much, as if it was the national championship game. I said "if they lose, they won't make the national championshp gam,e". Then I busted out my crusty old sutendt ID and told him to stfu. I'm hammred. Made my way back to my apt somehow to post about this amzing comback. No one else in the wedding party seemed to care. I'm just glad I was able to see it live. I'm hammered.

I know. I was disapointed that they decided to show the Indiana game here (in Chicago, go figure ;)). I had to listen to patchy radio coverage, and what I could find online. However, after Indiana won, they switched over to this game. This was the first time I'd seen a buzzer-beater live...it was awesome.

I listen to Johnny Holidy even when its on TV :D Best way: Go to Yahoo Sports; they get the local radio broadcast loud and clear. I only listen when Vitatle, Bilas or Patrick do the UMD games b/c they tend to stroke our egos :D And about the buzzer beater....you missed the NC State game during the regular season?!?!?! Drew is sweet, he ain't Juanny, but he's awful dam n close.

Aww, man, thanks for the info. I was tearing my hear out just trying to find a radio station that would periodically have the game on, not to mention one online that would stream the MD game. I go to school in Chicago, so we don't always get the games out here, unfortunately. One that I did get to watch out here was the Indiana/Maryland game back a while ago...that pissed me off. And that's true about Drew; I like this team, but, God, I miss watching Juan, Lonny, Chris, and Steve play.

Hehe good deal. Yah I figured out the yahoo sports thing when I had to work weekends (financial consulkting sucks like that) during UMD games. WMAL and WBAL used to carry live web streams, but I guess they cut it b/c of bandwidth. You're set with Yahoo sports though :) You don't wanna hear Billy Packer Butcher UMD player's names anyways.

Luckily, I still get to watch Juanny play here with the Wiz. I don' t get to see many Bulls games, but I hear Lonny is getting significant PT as well. I hope Wilcox does well, but we sure do miss him inside. I'm still hoping Byron catches on with a team, as I think he made that team complete and 've had to the chance to know him personally (not well, but I had a class with him my soph year, good guy, he was in our study group).

Blake is tough as nails and so is Drew. I just think their interior guys don't get up sometimes (Taj, Sleepy). Jamar is a bad-ass though, just inconsistent. And Gilchrist....love that guy. My Elite 8 pick looks pretty good right now...reminds me of 2 years ago with the GM scare and then the run :D

Btw, I'm a Beta. Was on campus today for a wedding rehearsal. I wanna go back to school too :(

Okay. Yeah, I actually checked on the WBAL website, and they said they quit streaming due to exorbitant licensing fees, or something like that. That's the main problem I've always had with the Terps; I've been following them since 95-96, and they've always been hot-cold, hot-cold. Even with Joe Smith and then Stevie Francis, it was always up-down, up-down. Last year (and the year before, to an extent) was the first year that I actually saw the entire team click. Oh, well, I'll be somewhere on Sunday when they face Xavier, cheering them on.

Oh, yeah, last October we went down to IU in Bloomington to visit one of our chapters down there. Naturally, I wore my MD hat. I kept asking them if they liked basketball, and (when they inevitably said yes) whether they'd seen the championship game. Then I'd point to my hat...man, they got pissed! They eventually stole it, and I didn't get it back for a few days. It was pretty funny.

BTW, I'm not sure when you graduated, or what you heard about PKS at Maryland...but I know they got kicked off campus in '95, I believe, for some pretty messed up stuff. I actually talked to a fairly recent alum from there who adopted our chapter at Towson. He told me some crazy stuff...:D

Yep, but Gary's done a great job with the card's he's dealt. Those cards are getting better and better every year tho :D They always underachieved tho in the tourney prior to two years ago....that team with Francis (my sr. year) we were absolutely stacked. No. 2 in the country after we won the Maui invitational, then an unceremonious end to St. John's (Artest) in the Sweet 16. The team's with Joe, Keith Booth, Johnny Rhodes, Exree, Duane Simpkins etc. were more or less a surprise tho. They weren't supposed to be anything special, but they beat an Iverson-led No. 2 ranked Georgetown team in the Capital Classic to start something special.

LoL, yah that's a great story. They are fanatical down there. One of my best buds went to IU, but luckily for him and for me, his loyalty lies with UMD first and IU second. It made it really hard to talk smack to him :) Your story reminds me of my freshman year when we played Puke at home (a team with Roshown MacCleod, Langdon and Battier, Brand, and Avery as freshmen). Some Dookie fan wore a hat that was promptly snatched off his head and frisbee'd around the student section. By the time it got back to him, it was all tattered and frayed beyond recognition. Was great :D Sounds like you got yours back at least in one piece. That was a tough loss though to IU and how they claimed they got revenge and what not, but we still have the hardware at Comcast (awesome btw, definitely watch a game there if you visit).

I graduated May '99 and pledged Fall 95, right when you guys got booted. I know PKS b/c you guys were our neighbors for like a week while I pledged :( Didn't hear anything bad by my standards, but I could see why the administrators didn't appreciate it so much ;) The older guys referred to the Skulls as a solid house that did its best to uphold our Animal House image :D I heard some hilarious stories about moving out tho, if you're interested in hearing them, I'll PM ya :)
