Did anyone play X2 "The Threat"?

I got X2 as part of a video card bundle... I never ended up installing it and I was wondering if it was any good(I am at work). I figured if they are making another one it can't be that bad

Opinions?

It was a very pretty game when it came out, like X3 is now. The storyline could be better, and it could be longer. The cut scenes were quite bad in my opinion. My personal gripe was that they named a main character Ban Danna.
If you like the idea of freeform trading and fighting and earning lots of game money and setting up your own factories then you'll probably like it. But be warned, it can take a long time to get any serious amounts of money and don't expect to be doing much combat when you first start because the ship you start off with is outgunned by pretty much anything.

The X series has been a blast from the past of sorts. The series closest to the true glory game, Elite or Frontier (Elite 2).

The problem I found with the entire series is that it has too many bugs and problems. Whilst the game may look stunning, much better than current FPSes imo, the combat in it doesnt fit properly, stitled and slow... AI has pathfinding issues, engine is usually poor and a strain on a machine...

Its excellent for a flashback but you just wish that they'd nail down a decent combat model and sort out the engine/bugs. Cutting my post short because I have to go to work.

X3 has awesome graphic but failed in userinterface from being the best space sim. anyways i liked it.

Space combat is much improved in X3. Purportedly they used the advanced AI combat code written by modders for X2 as a basis.

Not my kind of game but then you never know if you don't try it, i ordered it from a fellow member yesterday so i'll let you know what a noob to this kind of game thinks on about wensday.

i liked x3's graphics but its sooo boring and theres not much to do outside of buying/trading etc. none of which has alot of depth
