Did anyone know there were BTX motherboards for AMD?

We got a new Gateway PC in at work today, & when we ripped her outta the box to put on display, i realized it was a BTX system, but with an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ :Q

After searching google, i see there was mention of AMD BTX motherboads, but nothing much in production.

Apparently though, Gateway has found someone to make them BTX A64 s939 mobos 🙂
I looked all over the mobo for a manufacturer, but i couldn't see any distinguishing marks, just a model number of some sort.
CPU-Z didn't pull up any more info either.

It's got the nV Geforce 6100 chipset with 128 MB integrated memory (micro-BTX), & has an open PCI-e 16x slot free, but there was not much else for details i could find.

If anyone wants pics, i can get some for you guys next time i go into work 🙂

I gotta say though, i liked the BTX layout on the Intel-based PCs we have, & to see it on an AMD-based system is nice.

Can't really say much against it, as i think it's well laid out.

Thta's pretty interesting, I knew Gateway and Dell had BTX systems, but it's surprising to see it with an AMD. I remember reading something about how AMD didn't really have any plans on moving to BTX.

Yeah, i hadn't heard anything like this, but this is interesting.

I will likely get flamed for this, but i think BTX really is a better layout.

I didn't at first, but when you actually see it in action, it does seem to work well.

I don't dislike ATX by any means, but i also wouldn't be upset if BTX did become standard.
