Also: Today is march first anyone get any acceptances to UC's?

UC index is GPA (capped at 4.0, so thats 4000 points max) + SAT 1600 max, + double SAT II scores 4800max.

So here's how mine breaks down:
4000 GPA
1510 SAT
770x2 SAT II Math IIC
750x2 SAT II Bio M
720x2 SAT II Writing
=========================
9990/10400 possible

actually for UCLA engineering they send you a postcard before the acceptance letters go out saying that you are invited to the engineering open house. that's what a majority of my friends got.

UCLA has a max of 8000 points. the max amount of points you can earn by GPA and SAT is 4000 points. All your other points are learned from activities and so on.

Then you're separated into tiers, like tier 1, tier 2, so on. you are ranked from the amounts of points you have.

then the take from the top of each tier. maybe like the top 12 percent from each tier. that is why some people with perfect grades can still be declined.

acceptance rate is about 25 percent now. 40,000 apply, 11,000 admit, 4,000 enroll.

don't worry... you sound like you'll probably get in.

They're really comming out with some funky stuff now, UC Index?? Those are some pretty high scores, but geekiness isn't everything for UC's you need to be a community leader(whatever the hell that means).

I got into UC-Berkeley Chem Eng 2 years ago, but couldnt go becauase it would be too much money for out-of-state tuition..so I'm going to UT-Austin for almost free. Got a scholarship here but not at Berkeley.

800x2 SAT II MathIIC
770x2 SAT II Chemistry
750x2 SAT II Writing
=

wow those are some high ass grades. you'll probably get in, no sweat. unless you made a real ass out of yourself in the personal statement or something awful like that, which you probably didn't ^_^

btw that tier system is completely bogus. it screwed up several people i know. I don't understand what the point of that is...

i think the tier was implemented after they passed sp-1, which took out looking at race in admissions. they used the tiers to try to get a more varied kind of student population.

(it kinda shows... i know some complete idiots here)

and... BRUINS! WOOHOO! SATURDAY SHOWDOWN WITH STANFORD! WOOT! people are already camping out for the good seats! probably started last nite after the Cal game. woohoo!
