Did anyone get Combat Evolved 10th Anniversary ed?

I realize this is for Halo fans only, and I am one, just the single player though. One of my favourite games of all time but I read it is quite uninspired this time around, I'll probably buy it anyway but not till I'm done with Skyrim.

Picked it up today. I've only completed Pillar of Autumn so far but graphically the game is quite impressive. It's a lot of fun playing the original Halo again. I think why people are calling it uninspired is it's a hell of a lot easier that the previous Halo games. I'm running through on Legendary and I tore through PoA with ease.

I got it. I have not played single player and have no intention of doing so. Multi all the way.

I thought it was going to be a downloadable game from XBLA. Not sure if I can be arsed with it now.

I am a Halo fanboy so will get it soon enough.

Far too many other quality games out (and coming out) now. Will look into it when its on sale...sometime.

I would have bought it if it was a xbl download for $20. $40 is just too much to replay a game I've played thousands of times on a Xbox and plenty of times in 1080p on my pc.

The multiplayer is just Halo Reach with different maps.

The entire reason I'm interested is single player and co-op campaign. I'll probably wait until I can snag it for $20. Worth it for the nostalgia if nothing else, I loved playing the original Halo on my Xbox but running it on a 360 in backwards compatibility mode is a bit laggy especially in split screen.

I gotta agree with you. I loved the first game so much that I played it through about 5 times, played Halo 2 a few times but I always played on the PC. Then I had to buy an xbox to play halo 3... then ODST whatever it was called...that was really bad, I only played about 10 mins of that. But After not even turning on my xbox for about 3 years I did buy Halo Combat Evolved 10 year for Xbox.

MY opinion is that so far (played through the Pillar of Autumn level and then some) though the graphics are nice, the graphics themselves haven't improved the game at all. I look at the old graphics with the button and sometimes keep playing with them, nice feature btw. Everything that was dark seems more lite up now.. I don't know if this means that a 10 year old game called Halo still stands the test of time or the real star of the game was the game play itself.

I'd still like them to do a similar thing with System Shock II and maybe a few other of my favourite games.. Dune 2000 maybe. Redo the game completely with exactly the same gameplay and level design.. but a much better save design in SSII 🙂

But over all for this game, $40 bucks is too much for what I got and I'm a Halo Single Player fan boy (reminds me of a book called Ring World which I've read and read and read...)

Edit: I'll say this though... This Halo game looks better on a 60" plasma then Skyrim. Skyrim I have to play on PC it looks so bad with the xbox.

I agree with everyone above. This is a re-release of a game most of us have already played countless hours. The graphics on the pc version are great and the regular xbox one is decent as well. Its not new content, its just new graphics. $15.00 at best (and I still wouldn't buy it).

I bought it and I like it. Obviously, you've got to be a Halo fanboy to justify the $40 pricetag, but if that qualification applies to you then it is money well spent.
