Did anyone else here see Star Wars in numerical order first?

I just got done watching the 6th one. I never saw the originals as a kid, so I've seen them in numerical order.

I have to say that I exepected Anakin (sp?) to be alive at the end, leading the Jedis as the emperor or something. I didn't expect him to just die. My roommate says that I only feel that way because of the order in which I watched them.

Did anyone else see them in numerical order?

Hell no. If my first taste of Star Wars was Jar-Jar Binks I never would have bothered with any of the others. The only reason I saw 2 and 3 was because I thought 1 was an aberration and that they would be as good as 4-6 were. What a mistake that was.

No, that would suck IMO...

If you had watched IV first you would have had a better introduction to the universe - the new movies were made assuming the viewers had seen the originals. Plus you might have been more impressed with the old effects.

Yeah, the first one was really bad. I had no interest in seeing the others. Friends throughout the years have gotten me to watch them. The only ones that I really wanted to see where 5 and 6.

Clearly it means that he disregards the existence of episodes 1, 2, and 3. Clearly :D

/sigh

That was an attempt at humor, because most people respond the exact way I responded in threads about newer movies.

Of course not everyone can get my style of humor via text with no voice inflection over the internet :)

Heck, I still haven't been able to bring myself to watch Episode 3. Bought the DVD, watched about 15 minutes of it, got furious at the R2D2 jokes, removed the DVD and tossed it on the shelf behind my desk, where it's been ever since.

No, it's better to watch them in chronological order (by release date) so you can see what a jackhole Lucas is. You don't have to put a reference to every damn minor detail from the original trilogy into the prequels! I'm surprised nobody hit their head on a door while entering a room in the prequels. Have to have references to their screwups too!

Who hasn't seen Star Wars?

well at least one person.

Why did you enter a thread about watching Star Wars...

Are you joking? He asked if anyoen else saw the Star Wars in numberical order, that would imply that someone else in this world hadnt watched any of them until at least a few years ago, I fall into that same category and was intrigued that someone else besides me had not watched them until recently.

Only one i ever actually watched was the 2nd one.

Even Natalie Portman's hawtness couldn't save it, so i haven't spent another cent on Stars Wars: Overhyped Crap :D

I saw Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in theaters when they were originally released....so, no...I didn't see them in order.

BTW-You missed out on the greatest part of the first three movies (chronologically ordered of course) by watching the prequels first. You should watch them in chronological order or not at all.

In fact, I'll go so far as to say that Episode I, II, and III really add little if anything to the original saga.
